Disclosure
Hantavirus Guide is an independent reference site. This page explains how the site is funded and what that means for the content you read.
Affiliate links (Amazon Associates)
Some pages on this site link to consumer products on Amazon — for example, respirators, gloves, disinfectant, sealing materials, and traps that match the categories CDC describes in its rodent-cleanup and prevention guidance. Those links are affiliate links: if you click one and buy something on Amazon, this site may earn a small commission. The price you pay does not change.
As an Amazon Associate, Hantavirus Guide earns from qualifying purchases.
What affiliate links don’t change
- Editorial choices. Pages are written from CDC and WHO public-health materials. Products are listed by category (e.g. "P100 respirator", "EPA-registered disinfectant"), not by brand preference.
- Source priority. Where the CDC names a procedure or specification, the CDC source is what the page cites. Affiliate links sit alongside sourcing, not in place of it.
- Medical advice. This site does not provide medical advice. No product link should be read as a diagnostic or treatment recommendation. Follow guidance from your clinician and from official health agencies such as the CDC.
Display advertising
The site may also include display advertising in the footer or at the end of articles. Ads are clearly labeled. The site does not place ads inside the body of articles, and does not run interstitials, popups, or auto-playing media.
Editorial independence
No advertiser, affiliate program, or third party reviews articles before
publication. When CDC or WHO guidance changes, pages are updated and the
last_reviewed date is bumped. See Sources
for the canonical references each page draws from.
